‘Pollution’, when we hear this word our mind immediately falls in thinking about a smoky factory or a garbage depot or even our Indian rivers. These are the places which are being polluted or cause pollution, but the question is which the most polluted place in the world is? Yes, as the title implies it’s our mind. We may wonder how come our minds get polluted. But, also we may disagree if we come to know that our thoughts are the pollutants of our mind. Now arises another question of how thoughts pollute our mind and cause all ills? Instead of answering this question as a statement, answering using a situation will explain clearly without allowing doubt.
Let us take the current situation. When we hear about the virus corona, we ridiculously thought that it will not even touch the boundary of our country but it contradicted our thoughts and entered India as an uninvited guest. When it entered India we thought it will never ever enter our state, ironically it spread to all parts of the country. When it entered all states, claiming to some childish reasons we thought it will not reach our locality so we roamed in and around without obeying the government but it captured every nuke and corner of our country. These ridiculously polluted thoughts prohibited us from the precautions and completely massacred the awareness, and allowed the virus to make use of us as a vector.
Now, it is clear that how our thoughts play an important role in our and as well as in other life. In simple words, our life is a reflection of our thoughts and we should not allow thought pollution. Whatever decisions we take are based on our thoughts, how? Let us see the answer biologically. Whenever we experience a new situation or attempt to solve a puzzle or focusing on something the message about the condition immediately reaches the brain through the receptors. Brain, understand the situation, compares the situation with already stored information which is our thoughts, prepares a message, and sends it to the effectors that are the action we play.
There is a necessity for good thoughts to make a good decision. For our brain to be filled with good thoughts there is a need for a filterer alongside our brain, why? In today’s India, we daily come across many harassments and violence against women. Why the harasser is taking that much advantage of women? Why he couldn’t think well about that woman he harasses? This is because he doesn’t have a filterer to make his brain free from polluted thoughts.
Thought pollution is very dangerous. Understand the logical connections between ideas and make good decisions with good thoughts. Often filter your brain using rationality, honesty, discipline, open mind as a filterer. Not allow even the shadow of the polluted thoughts to fall on your brain. Overall no one can remain without thoughts even for a moment so think good.
