Mary was a 24-year-old girl whose parents had died in a car accident at the age of 10. Since then, she had been taken care of by her Grandma, Carla. Mary had finished college and was applying for jobs to start her career soon.

Clara was old and had become ill. Day by day, her Grandma’s health became worse. So Mary started to take care of her Grandma as much as she could. But after a year, Carla died.

Everyone was crying about Mary’s grandma, Carla’s death. But Mary did not cry. Why? Before dying, Carla had given Mary a plant that she had taken care of so far. It was a magical plant. She emphasized that her plant didn’t need sunlight or water. Because it was a plant that held the souls of their ancestors after their death. It was called a soul plant, and it would be everlasting. Whenever Mary needed guidance, she could ask the plant. She also had mentioned a few colors as signals of the plant’s reactions. They were:

Green: Yes.

Red: No.

Purple: Happy.

Brown: Sad.

So Mary was not alone!. If she wanted to hide the plant from people’s eyes, the plant would sense it and disappear immediately. Because of this, the plant was not visible to anyone yet. Also, if Mary wished, she could hand over the plant to someone she trusted the most, during her last minute in this world. These were the words given to Mary by her beloved Grandma.

To check this, Mary asked the plant if Carla’s soul had reached this plant. Immediately the plant turned green – it was a ‘yes’ from the plant. So Mary confirmed that her grandma was always with her.

After the funeral, she kept the plant in front of her family photo. In the picture, she was a child standing with her parents and grandparents. To know about her parents’ soul, she asked the plant whether her parents were with her through this plant. The soul plant again turned green. With tears of love, she placed her hands on the plant, and said, ” Thanks for being with me and thanks for the love!”. When one of her tears fell on the plant, the plant turned brown immediately. By seeing the plant’s Brown color, Mary understood that her tears made her ancestors’ souls feel sad. So to calm herself, she drank water and showed her peace of mind by dancing. Then, with a smile, she asked the plant, ” Are you all happy now?”. The soul plant turned green all of sudden. She laughed with happiness.

One day, she got a letter from the company to which she had applied to appear for the selection process. She prepared her documents for the next day’s interview. But before sleeping, she felt nervous about the interview. So she went to the soul plant and asked whether she would be selected for the job. She was keenly watching the plant’s color, and it turned green. She jumped with happiness at this positive sign. Then she thanked the plant for motivation. She slept well that night. The next day, she went to the interview. Just like the plant’s sign, she was selected for the job. When she shared the happy news with the plant, it turned purple.

Mary’s career had just started. She was happy with her life under the soul plant’s guidance. A few months later, on her birthday, she got a courier. She opened it – it was a bouquet with a birthday and love greeting card and mobile. She wondered who it was. Meanwhile, the gift mobile rang. She attended the call. A male voice said, “Happy birthday, Mary!”. She thanked him and asked who it was. He said it was Michael who was her childhood friend-loved her since the age of 5 years. He asked her to look outside. Surprised, she ran and opened the door. There stood a handsome man with a cute smile and beard. He said that he had managed to track her with the help of some friends and family. Then he asked her,” Will you marry me?”. Without answering, she shut the door and ran back inside. Michael felt upset and went away.

She talked about Michael with the soul plant as she felt that she had seen his love for her in his eyes. When she asked the soul plant with tears if Michael was the right person to marry her, it turned green. She smiled with tears of joy and rang Michael’s number. When he picked her call, she said, ” Michael, I love you!”.

With joy, Michael asked her if she would marry him. She said, “Yes!” and both were shedding tears of joy. The soul plant turned purple.
