1) Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan – A mark of knowledge and Education

We celebrate this day in India every year on 5th September which is also the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan – who was a devoted believer of education, former president of India, well-known diplomat, and above all a teacher. The story behind the celebration of teacher’s day in India goes as follows-

When Dr. Radhakrishnan came in to handle the office of the second president of India in 1962 his students approached him and sought permission to celebrate his special day. Dr. Radhakrishnan indeed requested to observe his birthday as teacher’s day to cognize the contribution of teachers to society…….

2) INTERNATIONAL EDGE OF TEACHER’S DAY ……

World Teacher’s day is known as International Teachers day and is celebrated every year on 5th October. It is observed worldwide by the teachers’ organizations. This aims to focus on acknowledging and upgrading the educators of the world.

3) 50 Shades of Celebration!!!!

The usual practices include organizing events where the students imitate their mentors’, present the teachers with chocolates, gifts, and various presents. The event may also include an overwhelming and nostalgic moment in which the teachers sit in place of students and cherish and relive their school memories

The grounds of all the efforts by the students, in a nutshell, are focused on tod pay tribute to the candles burning themselves and enlightening the young minds of the society.

4) OLD IS GOLD AND NEW IS …. (PLATINUM…)

The history of mankind has had some of the most influential and famous teachers –

Aristotle-a great Greek philosopher and a profound teacher taught by Plato was the founder of the school of philosophy. Aristotle’s philosophical methods were empirical and critical and were based on data collection and observation.

Chanakya- An ancient Indian teacher known for his role in the foundation of the Maurya empire – Chanakya Niti and Arthashastra; a clever, knowledgeable, and intuitive personality whose dignity set a mark.

Swami Vivekananda- carrier of simplicity, died at a very young age it is said that he died because of a rupture in a vessel in his brain. His disciples believe that he had attained Mahasamadhi – the act of intentionally and consciously leaving one’s own body while in a deep state of meditation.

Celebrating a day dedicated to all the great teachers reminds us every year of the various contributions a teacher makes to society.

5)Mother and a teacher

Frequently said that teachers are second mothers and analogically mothers are first teachers who nurture and instill some of the most significant lessons of life into the child. These special teachers are short-time private tutors and all-time go-to people. No quantity of generation gap and separation on land can separate the teachers and students.

6) #Guru Purnima

This worldwide celebration when mixed with the Indian culture brings us to the day of Guru Purnima which is considered to be one of the most auspicious days on which homage is paid to one’s guru or mentor. It highlights the extraordinary bond which exists between a guru and his shisha. Since ancient times mentions in the holy texts identify the work of a teacher as above all.

7) GURU/MENTOR/EDUCATOR/…………

“Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu

Guru Devo Maheshwarah

Guru Saakshaat Para Brahma

Tasmai Sri Gurvae Namaha”

-Adi Shankaracharya

meaning that a guru is Brahma, Vishnu, and Lord Shiva to whom men bow and pay their salutations…….

The innocent and simple minds of children given in the hands of guru will surely walk the path of righteousness; the shaping of the character of the naïve and simple soul is no less sensitive as making amazing pottery work out of wet clay- once done fairly enhances the beauty of the place around. The mentor guides the curious minds of shisha through the dark caves of Maya onto the path of goodness removing the screen of unrighteousness and ignorance. Through the teachings of the guru, the student is awakened, he learns to listen and comprehend the wisdom whispering from– man’s own conscious. The teacher introduces the student to the pillars of righteousness and teaches the right way to live at peace with one’s self – knowledge, patience, the mind, love, devotion, and justice – can be gained through a guru in his classroom or the gurukul which fill the students with compassion and introduce them to the true meaning of life; which elevate and, keep them to reaching the goal of life and attaining knowledge.

Arjuna was blessed with the gift of knowledge from Indra Shiva but was known as the shishya of Dronacharya, without a second thought he agreed to wage a battle against the king of Panchal for the sake of his guru’s honor and pride!!!!!!

Likewise, those who impart knowledge should never be unremembered. A shisha must always meet the academic and co-curricular expectations of his guru and should keep the valuable preaching close to the intellect.

8)DRASTIC CHANGE

During the time of the pandemic, the teachers of the world through online platforms are struggling to bridge the gaps between the students and education; the senior educators on the verge of stepping into the last phase of life are struggling to adapt to the growing technology to continue the process of imparting education. The motive behind the struggle is to not let the prevailing ambiance affect the education and growth of minds. There is a radical and unanticipated change in teaching methodology and the teachers are victorious in concealing their struggle. Online teaching by the tireless efforts of teachers has come a long way in establishing a connection between the guru and shishya. The mentors have succeeded in counseling their disciples. Amid the chaos, this endeavor adds to how much students owe their teachers.

A GOOD TEACHER IMPARTS KNOWLEDGE AS CHARITY AND NEVER TREATS KNOWLEDGE AS A TRADE

  13. Wow Very nicely and elegantly, the relationship between a Disciple and Guru has been described, It’s very true that this relationship can never be traded, A teacher shapes the future of his student, A Guru is above God for a Disciple, that’s why it has been rightly said
    गुरु गोविंद दोनो खड़े, काके लागूं पाय, बलिहारी गुरु आपने जिसने गोबिंद से मिलाए

  14. Hey Prayga, I will try again to post as I think who is the monitor of this site may have decided not to post my comment to you on June 13th at 1:30 pm.

While I do not know about these historical teachers you mention, I am sure those they taught had some benefit. You wrote a good article.

It is those teachers that were not nice but tough that we remember most. We became well rounded individuals and now are successful doctors, lawyers, pharmacists, and engineers.

You will note that on your journey in life you may meet up with someone who was a teacher and that teacher will not hesitate to correct your grammer and will even remind you that you are educated because of them, it’s true!

Wherever you go in life or whatever career you choose, be sure it is God’s plan for your life. Always pray to our Creater for everything and to guide your steps. He knows already what you want, you need to talk to God and ask. He is your best friend. He always answers prayers and remember God is Always on time (his time), he knows what is best for you and then, thank him. Love Ya!!
