The backbone of any civilisation is harmony. Indeed. But to believe that harmony and happiness
are going to prevail all the time is something that a person who likes to remain lost in a Utopian
state of mind is going to do. Reality is far different from that. It is harsh. So on dragging
everyone back to the current scenario , the only word that will be found to be at the tips of
everyone’s tongues is “pandemic”. COVID-19 has not only been a menace to the society but it
has become the reason behind many unpleasant events taking place which no one could have
ever thought of previously.Having said that, one still realizes that blaming the occurrence of the
pandemic for not being able to work and earn money will not fetch him two square meals a day.
Therefore, as only the fittest can survive in such tough times , people have started devising
ways to start working and earning money again . The COVID-19 pandemic has taught all that
they need to either shape up or ship out . Inspite of all the hardwork and the urge to start all
over again which have served as inspiration for everyone , the dark reality of several problems
seems to be unending.
These problems are not easily noticeable . One has to delve deeper to understand why these
hurdles are not getting removed easily. To fight these troubles a solution needs to be put in
place which comes across in the form of a startup company named ” Mission Sunshine”. The
reason behind naming it so has been explained ahead.
In order to understand the objectives of the organisation and accept its proposal ,the foremost
requirement is to classify the problems that have arisen during the times of COVID-19
pandemic.
What has/have been affected badly?
1. Health of people
2. Food Supply – shortage has occurred
3. Money in people’s hands
Basically due to loss of jobs there has been financial crunch and that has led to shortage of
food . Also the health of people has deteriorated to a large extent due to various reasons arising
because of the pandemic.
What needs to be done?
1. Provide healthcare services at home.
2. Increase the supply of food to those in need.
3. Inject money into the system and revive its proper circulation.
Now why the reason behind naming it “Mission Sunshine” is stated. Basically Sun is the
ultimate source of energy. Without the Sun the world would slip into darkness forever.
Everything that we do in our daily lives is only possible because of the Sun. But recently the
virus has compelled us to limit our lives to the four walls of our house. This startup will try to
reinstill the lost energy in people by engaging them in various activities. People from all walks of
life will be welcome to participate in this .
So the three issues have been identified and now these are like dots which need to be
connected . These have been bothering us for long and now they need to be wiped out as soon
as possible. However these problems can be removed completely only when everyone takes
the initiative to curb them. The startup company can be considered as a baby step towards
solving these sudden yet deeply-rooted issues.
These issues need to be taken up taken up on a broader scale as it includes a huge population.
But as Neil Armstrong has said ” This is one small step for a man , one giant leap for mankind”
similarly the day isn’t far when such ideas would be in large numbers.Once the dots have been
identified the immediate task is to devise a plan using which they can be connected to each
other.
The startup basically intends to help people by providing them with the bare minimum
necessities- Food , Money and Healthcare. Also, it intends to build a chain of common people
who will work together and in this way there will be more amount of inclusion. The workforce
will increase invariably because the hindrances that people are facing on a daily basis are
common. All the sections of the society have been more or less badly affected by the pandemic
so the sentiments come from a common source and also converge at a point.
The initial capital that is required to run the proposed activities of the startup will be gained by
taking loans that are specifically allocated/designed for this purpose by the government in the
form of schemes.These schemes are as follows:-

The first step would be to install food trucks at selected locations where people have been
badly crushed under the burden of the pandemic. People who have lost their jobs due to
COVID-19 will be in charge of cooking and selling food to everyone who’s in need of food in
those particular areas. The food will be sold at highly affordable prices so that the poor
wouldn’t have to sleep with empty stomachs. In the process the people who are in charge of
the food trucks will be able to earn their bread and butter. But above all safety measures will be
given the topmost priority so that the spread of the virus can be arrested which is the need of
the hour .
Secondly the issue on which light needs to be thrown is that a big chunk of people has slipped
into depression and anxiety which are results of the pandemic spreading like wildfire. These
people need immense amount of care and support. So, again those people who have lost their
jobs due to COVID-19 pandemic will be appointed either as nurses/caretakers of such people
who are suffering from mental imbalance. They would be paid accordingly. It is important to
analyse each and every dimension of a problem because sometimes solutions need to be
customised accordingly to tackle absurd problems.
After having solved the above problems to a certain extent , we need to focus on what to do in
order to inject money into the system , that is how to establish financial stability in such a time
of immense crisis. A major issue that has cropped up in the recent times is air pollution which
has been creating havoc. It is like the last straw on the camel’s back leading to surge in air
quality deterioration. But this problem needs to be dealt with in a different way.
We have all heard about ornamental flowers/orchids. They not only intensify the beauty of one
place but also serve as healers of various mental illnesses. These flowers when grown with a
business perspective in the mind can make a person earn very well. The margin of profit by
selling these plants is immensely high. So, the third most important objective of the company
would be the cultivation of such ornamental plants by distributing their saplings among people
who wish to volunteer in helping them grow. Later, when these plants are sold either in the national/international markets the volunteers would be paid accordingly. This will especially be
beneficial to those suffering from mental trauma as such flowers have the ability to heal a
disturbed mind when surrounded by them.
To put it in a nutshell , these are the major issues which need to be eradicated immediately.
There can be ample solutions to these problems but what matters is the thought and the will to
implement an idea. Whenever a new venture is taken up it is mostly done to solve the
predominant issues bothering people at that time. Later on , when such a venture tastes
success , it transforms into an institution which people look up to and derive inspiration from.
The effective implementation of the aforesaid proposal is undoubtedly going to face obstacles
in its salad days. Little gaps that arise due to lack of communication,coordination and
cooperation may sometimes impede the growth initially to a small extent. But the entire
intention behind implementing this proposal is to join the unconnected dots. Once we get the
hang of it , it will be a smooth ride all the way.
