“Whether you come back by page or by the big screen, HOGWARTS will always be there to welcome you home.”
Said the greatest writer of all time- ‘J.K Rowling’.

Joanne Rowling better known by her pen name J.K Rowling is a British author, philanthropist, film producer, television , producer and screen writer. Best known for writing ‘Harry Potter’ fantasy series which has won multiple awards and sold more than 500 million copies. She has lived the ‘rags to riches’ life. She commented that her teenage years were unhappy.

Her mother was suffering from multiple sclerosis. Though truly exclaiming she was a gifted writer and was very much into writing since her early days. She wrote her first book at the age of six, then she was eleven when she wrote a novel. In 1990,she was on a four-hour delayed train trip from Manchester to London when the idea came fully formed of a boy attending school of witchcraft and wizardry. She lost her mother in december which heavily affected her and we can see how she channelized her loss and grief by deepening the past of Harry’s parents.

Now who doesn’t love the harry potter series, well if not liking it people have at the least heard of it.If you see the reason why, it’s obviously because how fantasizing the series has turned out to be.

The first harry potter book,-Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone was published by Bloomsbury in 1997 to immediate popular and critical acclaim. These were accompanied by six best selling books, three companion books, and recently two screenplays. The books have been translated into over 80 languages.

The harry potter books have also gained recognition for sparking an interest in reading among the young at a time when children were thought to be abandoning books for computers, games, television and other unnecessary things.

The central character and protagonist Harry Potter lives with his uncle and aunt .He is completely unaware of the fact that he’s a wizard; has never heard of Hogwarts and the amazing magical world awaiting him.

‘Yer a wizard harry’ said Rubeus Hagrid, a character, and asked him to accompany him to ‘Hogwarts-school of witchcraft and wizardry’ which has a place for him. And that is when all the bewildering experience began for harry. The wizarding world exists parallel to muggle world, and in secrecy.

Through the series Rowling takes us to a world that is as perfect as it can be. All down the series we see how harry must and has to face the arduous journey and defeat the enemies and the main antagonist Lord Voldemort in front of him. Along the seven books we get into Harry’s each magical years from 1991 to 1998,spent in Hogwarts. His magical ability is inborn and indeed at the end of the series he proves himself to be the most consummate wizard as well.

Harry becomes a student at Hogwarts, a wizarding academy and here is where the main events take place. In the first year we are introduced to most of the main characters where harry makes the acquaintance of his two about to be best friends-Ron Weasley,a funny, loving person and Hermione Granger ,a gifted bright witch. Then he encounters Draco Malfoy,a spoiled brat,he also meets up several characters which play an important role throughout.

The entire series of harry potter is sometimes seen as an unhealthy obsession among children and adolescents due to its overly fantasized concept of an entire world which cannot exists when in reality the series is something which is extremely captivating and encouraging young readers on how to overcome the challenges that life throws at you.

If you look at it from a positive and right perspective you’ll make out how inspiring the whole story is. It teaches the young minds on how to manage the academics, maintain work and hobbies balance,on how to handle every sort of relationships and many other essential life lessons.

Every character in it is precisely developed and with the thought on how the readers are supposed to perceive it as and scrape out the the lessons that the character teaches us with its achievement and downfall as well. I love how Rowling has got the inspiration of each and every character development from her real life. She exclaimed that the character Hermione Granger was based on her when she was eleven.

If for instance we see Harry’s character -he is eminently brave ,also not to forget he’s very much protective of his friends and has a great mindset. Ron Weasley is such an appreciable character,he’s funny without even trying also not to mention he is very considerate and a family person. Hermione Granger is my favorite, I love her because she emits so much female empowerment feels, also her resilience says everything, she’s so strong and ready to handle the whole of the onerous world ahead of her.

The story teaches us some really life awakening essential lessons especially for adolescents. How we must always cherish our friendships, how we must stick around our friends through the thick and thin.On how we should not run away and try to find an escape when we see a problem approaching us,instead be ready to face it all down no matter how much that requires of us.It teaches about loyalty, how we must never break promises, how we must never betray one another.

Many of the characters in the series give us the teaching on how we must never judge a book by its cover. Severus Snape was forseen as a dark character and it turned out that he had a dark past. How Draco Malfoy was seen as an atrocious character when in reality he was forced to be the the one that everyone thought he was. How Quirinius Quirrel who was developed as a meek character later turned out to be ally of Lord Voldemort. And most importantly how Voldemort turned from a seraphic Tom Riddle to brute ‘He-who-must-not-be-named’.

Over all it can be said that the harry potter series is truly a stupefying, thrilling, and exhilarating one. I personally like J.K Rowling and Harry Potter because it has taught me so much, I have discovered so much on how life is, how it should be, how far have I come and how much more can I have. It has showed me the literal meaning of how nothing is impossible because even that word says that it I’m possible. You can achieve anything you want if you are determined enough and if you are willing to give your everything for it.

Always remember- “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light”.
