Coronavirus has left our milieu rocking…

Coronavirus has left our milieu rocking,

All it does is sheer mocking.

Many business indulgers have gone under the weight of loan books,

While the women are still concerned about their looks.

The drudgery at home, that are trivial,

The men are dragooned into doing things, material.

All countries have tried their best,

But it is up to us, to do the rest.

My vicinal, being a daily- wager,

Had made himself scarce (left the town) due to this rampager.

The efforts of health care workers were laud,

While the ‘ethnic groups’ doing time (jail) for fraud .

Were at last released…

While the pandemic takes no attempt to cease.

Today, I had all but got up to the screeching of the radio,

But these times, a familiar sound escapes my ears- the one of a Casio,

Now, it is all about News and Updates about Corona,

While the Government talks about ‘Corona Se Darona’

My phrontistery (school) is closed for infinite days,

One year furlough for American students, Donald Trump says.

While children are learning through Byju, Vedantu or Unacademy,

But in India and America, down slides the economy!

Everywhere in the world, Work From Home is become popular,

But earlier, it was a cacophonous jocular.

Some people are striving to make both ends meet,

We can’t control it, even though technology is a major feat.

It is all man’s doing, philosophers knowledgeably say,

Just sit at home and enjoy, makes a person’s day.

No…hotels, fast food, restaurants or long drives,

This pandemic infects everyone be it, Australians or Gonaives

This pandemic doesn’t differentiate between the rich and the poor,

And now, the superstars can’t ride about in a Lamborghini Aventador.

Children presently in 12th can’t give JEE Advanced or NEET,

The pandemic has made the population leap up to   its feet.

Many celebrities renown have made themselves known,

For a need of a Coronavirus ventilator in their bed, sown.

It implies that many celebrities have transmitted Covid-19,

It attracts the old, young and even my friend who is a teen.

This has brought a vicissitude to our routinely- perfect life,

But one must not lose hope and learn not to play with the knife.

I can’t meet my friend, and practically can’t stare at the sun,

My friend and I can’t have those usual masti and fun.

Nowadays, there is a dip in pilfered and practical cases involving murders,

If one goes to a park, one can’t see two tryst- smooching lovers.

People ranging from a peon, to a Hollywood actor are scared,

Even the Conclave is adjourned, the locus where meetings are chaired.

No new edifices are constructed, no new task to be completed,

We have to substantiate the schedule, and make sure everything is deleted.

Now as one is in quarantine, the things one can do is-

Please give me back my opus, I’ll say to my sis

My mom is caterwauling, not to avail the mobile a lot,

But what a helpless child can do, when everyone else is sought.

The government has rectitude in imposing all over quarantines,

Else we suffer like the ill-fated Florentines.

I just hope, this is not like 1918,

Or else the confidantes, I can’t look upon, will be 13.

Many people are taking the trouble,

But what manoeuvre is it, if the numbers are treble.

Whom are we to think,

Let’s be ready for the worst, or we won’t again link.

This is all due to us

And our unwanted fuss.

If it was not for our bad deeds,

We wouldn’t have a tough time like the reeds.

But never mind, we still have time,

To watch many a mime.

The nature is getting an automated cleansing,

The factories are closed, all the people rinsing

Hope we return the balance of nature,

Or there will be no future
