Bill Gates whose real name was William Henry “Bill” Gates III was born on 28th October 1955, to a middle-class family in Seattle, Washington. He is a man with many talents like the business magnate, the Philanthropist, the investor, the computer programmer, and the inventor. Bill Gates founded the world’s largest personal computer software company Microsoft with Paul Allen in April 1975. He is the former CEO and Chairman of Microsoft which is now taken over by Satya Nadella on 4th February 2014.

Bill Gates graduated from Lakeside School in 1973 and further studied with the support of his parents and enrolled at Harvard College in 1973. During his studies at Harvard, he explored his interest in machines and finally with the support of his parents he dropped out of Harvard and started his own company with Paul Allen.

Gares” passion for technology began at the age of 8 when he invented his first computer program. This program allowed the players in a game of tic tac toe. By the time Bill Gates left us, he will have given more than 90% of his wealth. He set up the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation with his wife in 1997. So far, he has donated 28 billion dollars to philanthropic causes that include better health care, vaccines, school grants, education. To this time, the foundation has saved over one million lives with vaccines and better health care. In 2002, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation was awarded the most generous philanthropists in the world.

Bill founded several schools based on hands-on knowledge and technology. He also has given many Ted talks on education and offers billions of dollars in grants for schools across the US. He also supports teachers through increased awareness about the lack of information and compensation.

Despite his philanthropic works and online presence, there are a lot of things about Gates that many are unaware of like he wrote his first computer program on a General Electric computer. It was a version of tic-tac-toe where one play against the machine. Once the school discovered his coding abilities, they let him write the school’s computer program for the students scheduling classes and that is how he changed the code so that he could be with girls’ class. Gates also read the entire “World Book Encyclopedia” series during his teenage years. He also scored a near-perfect 1590 out of 1600 on SATs.

He was a college dropout and fully devote himself to Microsoft. After two years of dropping out of Harvard Gates was arrested in New Mexico. He was driving without a license and ran a red light.

Despite his immense wealth, Gates says his children will only inherit $10 million each of his wealth. Leaving kids massive amounts of money is not a favour to them.

Bill Gates was one of the greatest leaders ever alive. Leading Microsoft into becoming one of the most famous computer software companies in the world, as well as becoming the second richest person. However, not everybody is perfect. No doubt he has a very good personality, a good management style and a very caring person, but not everybody is perfect.

‘He needs to work on being more open to ideas. Changing the management style of Microsoft was a starting point, and he can develop it further to be more open-minded.
His strongest attribute is his caringness, he took a lot of courage to step down from the CEO position of one of the best computer software companies to do charity work for people more than many times poorer than us.
