Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand

Those were the days where people led peaceful life, good relationships between countries and everything went normal. Suddenly a big mishap happened in the world history, and this led to ‘blood shed’ in the world history pages.

It is none other than assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, Prince of Austria. He was an advocate of federalism and believed in giving favor for triadism, under which both the Austria and Hungary would be reorganized by the combination of Slavic lands within the Austro-Hungarian empire into a third crown. This incident assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand was happened on June 28th 1914 at Sarajevo in Bosnia. Ben said dinner and visited Sarajevo with his wife Sophia, is Serbian fanatic Gavrilo Princip short shut them because he he want to end Austro Hungarian rule over Bosnia. Then the relationships between Austria and Serbia overturned. The Austrian government asked an explanation from Serbia, but the Serbian government did not respond to the ultimatum of Austria. Then with the support of Germany Austria declared and war on Serbia on 28th of July 1914.
In favor to Serbia countries Britain, France, Russia participated and this is called ‘TRIPLE ENTENTE’

The entente formed it led to spark for World War-I. As Russia supported Serbia, Austria and Hungary waited to receive assurance from German leader Kaiser Wilhelm 2. Austro Hungarian leaders were frightened because Russia support to Serbia will attract France and Britain because they are at least. On July 5th Kaiser declared his support to Austria, Hungary which is called ‘BLANK CHECK ASSURANCE’ of Germany in the war.
Then Austria-Hungary sent and final ultimatum to Serbia which is impossible for Serbia to accept as the terms and conditions are harsh.

WORLD WAR-I BEGINS :

Now Serbian government came to in conclusion that Austria-Hungary is not interested in making treaty atmosphere and order Serbian army to mobilize and took assistance of Russia. On July 28th 1914 Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia which destroyed the peace between Europe’s great powers.
Within one week Russia, Belgium, France, Great Britain and Serbia lined up war against Austria, Hungary and Germany this World War-I had began.
According to an aggressive military strategy known as ‘SCHLIEFFEN PLAN’ , Alfred Von Schlieffen Germany began fighting World War-I in two Fronts.
1) The Western Front.
2) The Eastern Front.

THE WESTERN FRONT :

The Western Front is nothing but Germany entering into France through Belgium in the West.
On August 4th 1914 German troops crossed the border into Belgium, they destroyed the city named Liege using most powerful weapons. They captured the city by August 15th 1914.

FIRST BATTLE OF THE MARNE:

It happened between 6th to 9th of September in 1914, in this battle French and British forces fought with German army which entered into north Eastern France. The battle almost won by French and the British not only this ‘VERDEN BATTLE OF SOMME’ is also an big war between both these troops.

THE EASTERN FRONT:

On the other side Russian forces entered into German regions such as Poland and East Prussia which were stopped by German forces at the battle of Tannen Berg in August 1914. Russia won this battle, then Germany shifted forces from western to the eastern front to balance the soldiers loss.

In the meantime some of the German U boats sunk several passenger and commercial US vessels. With this America entered into world war one in February 1917 and on April 2nd Woodrow Wilson declared a war against Germany.

British, French and American troops became an allies to fight against Austro-Hungary troops. British, American and French troops are supported by very good ammunition, ships and planes. So, they took big hand over the war against German as they have Royal Navy on their hands which is the world’s best Navy force, Machine Guns, Air Force(Royal Air Force of British) helped this allies.

In the second battle of the Marne which occurred on July 15th 1918 American and British troops pushed back the German troops from France and Belgium as it gave landslide victory to Allies.

CONCLUSION:

The bronze medallion of Archduke Franz Ferdinand which was a part of monument that was erected on the site of the assassination and demolished in the year 1918, is currently preserved at art gallery of Bosnia and in Sarajevo. So with this World War One has come to an end. The one incident assassination of archduke Franz Ferdinand turned the world scenario, and the world has started to see the modern wars which forced the mankind into grave dangers.
