Hey readers hope you’re doing well . My topic for this essay is based on history . So first let’s start with what is history? History is the study of the events which has already happened in the past. Well history is not just account of events but it also guides us for a better future.

Yes, our learning towards a pandemic recurring every 100 years has been poor, but we still have learnt a lot. History tells us about the mistakes we should not repeat to build a better future and also teaches us about how to live a peaceful life without any struggle or fight.

Now let’s come to our main agenda. The historical event which changed the world scenario. According to me the independence of India and Pakistan changed the lives of many people. Saying humans in particular would undermine the intensity of the event which took place in 1947. Religious intolerance, greed for land being few prominent ones. People started differentiating each other not on the basis of intellect or skill, but on the basis of religion.

Such illogical thing is this. How can we judge someone on the aspect of something which is out of his control? The Britishers who ruled us for more than 250 years played an important in dividing these two religions. More than ideological differences the crevices were seen in the bonding of the people from these two religions.

Arms and ammunition didn’t result in the partition of Indo-Pak, divide and rule was stronger than gun powder. The only weapon on Earth which killed lakhs of people without physically touching them. Soon more people came and joined this divide and rule trend to separate both the religions for societal disturbance, politics or own benefit.

The next thing which changed was rights of woman . When the men of houses were going out for work or revolting against Britishers, the works which were done by men only were now done by women also, because of the loss of workers. When the men saw that the work which was being by women was better than their work, they were shocked and surprised . After India’s independence they decided that we cannot judge someone’s limit so we should give women’s the right of voting and they should be allowed to work outside the 4 walls.

Amrit Kaur was the first woman minister and served for ten years . She was holding the ministry of health cabinet .
The last thing which changed was personality of people . People started being less kind, as they had faced so many betrays from their own people . The Indian people joined British army for money and killed their own people . Very soon the Indian people got to know Britishers strategy to force them to fight . But still couldn’t believe their own people .

The Indians who joined British army were now feeling very guilty for their act and left the British army and joined the Indian army . Every Year we celebrate Independence Day , but do you think that we are really independent? I personally do not because, the language I’m writing, is English, the books we read are mostly in English . When someone cannot communicate in English, we usually consider them as uneducated because our mindset forces us to think like that.

It is not about one person; it is about the environment we are growing in. It is not that people who cannot speak English are less educated it’s just that they have studied from a medium not compatible with English or the facilities which they got was supportive of only a single regional language. I am not opposing the language or any people from a British background but we all need to support our culture and language .

Now I will end with a self-written quote

“Those unsleepy days,
Those unsleepy nights, Those days of struggle and fight .
Caged in a prison but I knew I was not alone”
