Doolittle’s farm

1
570

In the plains of Littleton

Were the Doolittle farm;

The farm with magnificent mellow

That bring forth from below.

Grams, peas, cane, mustard, bean,

Maize and rice were sown.

He worked betwixt sun and sun,

Toiling and removing the weeds;

His crop nourished by tame

Which was a manure of fame.

He reared with no fear,

Because of no artificial fertilizer, I swear.

His work echoes like gongs

Though he used no tongs.

Through songs, yes through songs

That gongs for longs.
